Elon Turner

Executive Director


Elon has spent his entire career in education IT with seven years in K-12 and thirteen years in higher education as both a technical practitioner and in technology leadership roles. He believes there is no greater way to impact the future of Arkansas and the quality of where he lives, than to support educational institutions. In his role as Executive Director of ARE-ON, Elon hopes to make broader impacts across the state of Arkansas. There are a myriad of challenges in modern IT, and he likes that he is positioned to help solve those challenges.

Scott Ramoly P.E.

Chief Technology Officer


As an electrical engineer by training, Scott has always been involved with technology companies or teaching technology. His experience includes 17 years with AT&T (SBC) in a variety of engineering and management positions. Scott was excited to apply his skills and experiences to help build a premier
research and education network for the state of Arkansas. After serving as a senior engineer for
several years, he now leads ARE-ON’s team of talented engineers. Scott enjoys the collaborative team environment with the ARE-ON team and other R&E networks and regional/ national organizations.

Elizabeth Mann

Finance Director


An Arkansas native, Elizabeth has always been interested in Accounting and Finance and chose it as a career path early in life. With 25+ years of experience in the field, she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of people in different organizations. Prior to joining ARE-ON, Elizabeth worked in the oil, public utility, and nonprofit sectors where she excelled at developing processes and efficiencies that consistently increased revenue. Elizabeth loves working at ARE-ON because she can help our members successfully reach their goals.

Carla Martin

Project Coordinator


Carla has a very clear memory of the moment her career trajectory was set. Her family computer was upgraded from a 286 to the first Pentium and "every science fiction movie I’d ever seen sprang to life, and I saw the future." She comes to the position of ARE-ON Project Coordinator with that belief in the power of technology to change lives still strong and with 20+ years of experience at the University of Arkansas focused on IT service development and project management.

 

Carla is focused on planning, coordinating, and executing ARE-ON's technical operations, partnering with the engineers and senior staff. She views the project coordinator as the person who makes work easier for the team and she enjoys helping get things done, making this a great opportunity to support such important work.

ARE-ON's expert technical team brings decades of combined experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-speed research and education networks. Our professionals handle network architecture, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and strategic planning to ensure ARE-ON delivers enterprise-grade connectivity that meets the demanding needs of higher education organizations and medical institutions.
